Tirzepatide Injections: Curb Program By Dr. G’s Q&A

What is Tirzepatide?

Tirzepatide is a dual glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist (RA) that is manufactured by Eli Lilly and Company. This medication can help treat medical conditions such as type 2 diabetes (T2D), obesity, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

Tirzepatide injection is administered into the subcutaneous tissue, which is the fatty area just beneath the skin.

The American Diabetes Association (ADA) has approved tirzepatide as a treatment for adults with type 2 diabetes and obesity. In May 2022, tirzepatide also gained FDA approval for the treatment of adults with type 2 diabetes and obesity.

Tirzepatide, sold under the brand name Mounjaro or Zepbone among others used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and for weight loss

How does Tirzepatide work and application?

Tirzepatide works to lower high blood sugar by increasing the amount of insulin that is released, lowering the amount of glucagon released, and delaying gastric emptying.

Tirzepatide also controls appetite and so helps you reduce the amount of food that you want to eat.
